Remember Piera Romeo dead 100 years old
Dear all, I regret to inform you that Mrs. Pierina Romeo has died yesterday in Milan. She was the penultimate daughter of Ing. Nicola Romeo, the sixth of seven children, three males and four females.
She died at the venerable and wonderful age of 100 years made in the last February. We have had the pleasure to meet several times “Aunt Piera” of our great friend Daniela Maestri Romeo, to which go our greetings and our affectionate condolences. We remember her at “2000: The Alfa in Milan”, at the Alfista party for the opening of the street named to Nicola Romeo in Magreglio. Unforgettable for me the memory of Mrs Pierina, with her sister Irene, on the pier of Bellagio ( Como Lake). Both fairs and happy behind the great Alfa Romeo banners, waiting for us and our cars coming on the ferry during a Raduno of our Registro 6C 2500. Witty and always smiling, Aunt Piera also was the personal secretary of the father, regularly employed in the company. Once she told me when daddy Nicola used to bring her, young girl, and all the other brothers at the racing arrivals:” I remember very well how many times the red cars came first!” Than she added with a little bit of malice .” Well, sometimes it won also the blue cars or the silver ones, but I remember that less well…!
Goodbye dear Mrs. Pierina. Another witness of the great novel called Alfa Romeo leaves, another page we can add to this wonderful book that will be never closed.
